Arai QUANTUM-X | Oriental Black Frost

The Arai Quantum-X “Oriental Black Frost” is a high-quality full-face street helmet that merges comfort, refined airflow, quiet ride feel, and an eye-catching graphic. Built with Arai’s PB-SCLC shell (Peripherally Belted Super Complex Laminate Construction), it is designed to offer strong impact resistance and better glance-off behavior, helping deflect impacts especially around the temple area. The helmet uses the VAS (Variable Axis System) shield mechanism, which lowers the pivot point by about 24 mm, smoothing out the shell profile and enhancing protection. It also includes a VAS Max-Vision shield plus a Pinlock-120 insert to help with anti-fog performance.

Fit and comfort are distinctly tuned for riders with rounder or more “egg-shaped” heads. The interior liner combines thicker padding front and rear with thinner side pads to better balance fit for those who need more width side-to-side. Ventilation is handled by a system of QVF intake ducts and QVR exhausts, along with a water-repellent chin cover that reduces noise and improves airflow, especially around the mouth. The “Oriental Black Frost” graphic adds an elegant dark matte base with subtle Frost finishing, Japanese-inspired Oriental motifs, and brush-stroke detailing, giving this helmet both a stealthy and artful appearance.
